Bryn is co-founder and managing partner at GVR. Bryn has broad experience in real estate, having been involved in a wide range of real estate development and luxury hotel activities since 2008. His current practice focuses on obtaining land use entitlements for projects in California, as well as advising on other key aspects of hotel projects, including hotel management agreements. In addition to his activities at GVR, Bryn is also active as a value add investor in multi-family and hotel assets in San Francisco and as an early stage investor in emerging companies in the Bay Area.

Prior to co-founding GVR, Bryn was a member of the Land Use Department at Miller Starr Regalia, a leading California real estate and land use law firm. From 2014 to 2020, Bryn was with Viceroy Hotel Group, a Los Angeles based luxury hotel management company, where Bryn served as Senior Advisor and advised on a wide range of business and finance matters, including the negotiation of hotel management and related agreements.  

Bryn and his family lived in Abu Dhabi from 2008 to 2014, where Bryn served as Senior Advisor at Mubadala, a government owned investment firm. During his time at Mubadala, Bryn led the real estate team at Mubadala Real Estate and Infrastructure, overseeing the development of more than three million square feet of retail, residential, hotel and office projects on Al Maryah Island, in addition to managing Mubadala’s international real estate investments and partnerships, including its investment in Related Companies. Key projects included the development of Four Seasons Abu Dhabi and Rosewood Abu Dhabi, The Galleria (Abu Dhabi’s leading luxury retail center), two million square feet of class A office space and Viceroy Maldives, an ultra luxury hotel in the Maldives. During this time, Bryn served on the boards of a number of Mubadala’s portfolio companies, including The John Buck Company, a Chicago based real estate investment firm, where he was also a member of the Investment Committee. 

Bryn began his career as a mergers and acquisitions attorney at Shearman & Sterling, working with clients in the technology, travel, energy and media sectors in the firm's New York, Paris and San Francisco offices. While in the Paris office, Bryn was seconded to EDF, Europe’s largest electricity company, where he led Western European M&A activities for the legal department.
